In 2015, the application process began to become a UNESCO World Geopark. The territorial area includes all the municipalities of Pallars Jussà; Baix Pallars to Pallars Sobirà; Coll de Nargó to Alt Urgell; Vilanova de Meià, Camarsa and Àger in Noguera.
