The municipal swimming pool of La Pobla opens the season with young people form the municipality at the helm
On June 21st, the summer season kicked off at the municipal swimming pool in La Pobla de Segur. This year, the management will be directly from the council and the surveillance and customer service will be in charge of four young people from the municipality, hired specifically for the service during the summer months.
With this action, the City Council reaffirms its commitment to generating job opportunities for young people in the municipality, especially during the summer season, when many students and young professionals are looking for temporary jobs that allow them to gain experience and income. The team, made up of two people in charge of surveillance and two more for customer service and ticket and product sales, has been selected through a public call.
The mayor of La Pobla de Segur, Marc Baró, wanted to highlight this fact: “It is a great satisfaction to see that our swimming pool is not only a leisure and health space for the neighborhood, but also an opportunity for the young people of the town to get actively involved in the life of the municipality”. The swimming pool will be open every day until August 31, from 11 am to 7 pm.
Young people on internships in the Odisseu Program
For another summer, the City Council will also have two university students on internships within the framework of the Odisseu program, which promotes the return of young talent to rural areas. This year, one young woman will strengthen the team of the Tourist Office and the other will support the general administration area of the City Council.
