The new PUOSC projects include the urbanization of the area surrounding the Tourist Office and the renovation of sidewalks
Pobla de Segur City Council will invest €400,000 in aid from the Catalan Single Plan for Works and Services for the period 2025-2029 in the development of the area surrounding the tourist office, the construction of new sidewalks, and the replacement of asbestos cement pipes in various areas of La Pobla de Segur.
The first project, scheduled to be carried out throughout 2026, involves the replacement of the asbestos cement pipes and the subsequent construction of new sidewalks in the area of the old Cooperativa and on the left side of the section of Catalunya Avenue and part of Sant Miquel Avenue between Plaça de l’Arbre and Pirineus Avenue. The mayor of La Pobla de Segur, Marc Baró emphasized that “in parallel, a study of the state of the sidewalks throughout the municipality will be conducted in 2025 to identify needs, establish future actions, and seek the corresponding funding.”

The second project envisages the development of the entire area surrounding the tourist office to continue the work already carried out around the hangar. This includes the development of “N” Street, wich would provide continuity to Camil Cases Street below Estació Avenue, a new adjacent street near the Tourist Office to connect Plaça del Ferrocarril with Camp de la Sala Avenue, and the development of another parking area around the Tourist Office.
Baró explained that this is “a large, important, and necessary project to facilitate mobility on streets that are becoming increasingly busy.”
The estimated cost of the two projects is €772,000, of which €400,000 will come from the PUOSC and €372,000 will be contributed from the City Council’s own funds.
